UK CYBER SECURITY CONSULTANCY – ASSESSMENT
TSP helps UK businesses understand their risks, meet their obligations and take practical steps to protect what matters. No jargon. No unnecessary complexity. Just clear, commercially grounded advice.
WHO IT’S FOR
Built for leadership teams who need a credible starting point.
If you already know you need Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001, go straight to those. This assessment is for when you're not yet sure where you stand, or what to prioritise first.
• SMEs that want a credible baseline of where they stand.
• Leadership teams preparing for board or investor questions.
• Organisations preparing for tenders, audits or customer assurance.
• MSP clients that want an independent view of their security position.

HOW IT WORKS
TYPICAL OUTCOMES
Know where your greatest risks sit and which actions will make the biggest difference
Respond with clear evidence of the protections, processes and governance you have in place
Focus your time and budget on achievable improvements, tackled in the right order
Ensure everyone understands what needs to happen, who is responsible and when it should be completed
PROFESSIONALLY ASSESSED
We assess against the framework most relevant to your sector, obligations and objectives, including the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, Cyber Essentials controls, and ISO 27001/27002 — backed by TSP's network of framework specialists for the deeper technical detail specific obligations demand.
Everything shared during the assessment is handled in confidence. Findings are reported only to the people you nominate, and we're happy to work under an NDA as standard.
YOUR ASSESSOR
Carl brings honest, open dialogue to every engagement — no tech talk, just a common understanding.
Carl has spent 30 years in the IT industry, rising through the ranks across a wide variety of roles before reaching board level as IT Director for a FTSE 250-listed international business, prior to founding TSP. That route means the assessment is grounded not just in how businesses run IT day to day, but in why protecting your business assets and data has become paramount in today's threat landscape.

Incident Readiness
Most Cyber Security Assessments take between two and four weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your organisation, the scope of the assessment and how much supporting documentation is already available. Your initial Cyber Clarity Call will help us understand your requirements and provide a more accurate indicative timeline.
Not necessarily. Our Cyber Security Assessment is primarily based on structured discussions and a review of relevant policies, processes and supporting evidence. If access to specific systems or technical information would provide valuable additional insight, we will explain why and agree the scope, access and security arrangements with you in advance.
A Cyber Security Assessment is not the same as a penetration test. A penetration test is a technical security exercise that identifies and attempts to exploit vulnerabilities within specific networks, systems or applications. A Cyber Security Assessment examines the broader picture, including cyber governance, technology, security controls, business processes, policies, people and organisational risk.
TSP can also provide penetration testing services where deeper technical testing is required. If penetration testing would benefit your organisation, it will be identified within the assessment recommendations.
A Cyber Security Assessment does not automatically provide Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus certification. It establishes your current cyber security position, identifies gaps and gives you a prioritised plan for improving your security and resilience.
TSP also provides Cyber Essentials certification support. If certification is your goal, TSP can help you understand the requirements, prepare for the assessment and address any weaknesses that need attention.
A TSP Cyber Security Assessment includes a prioritised report covering identified cyber risks, security gaps, practical recommendations and suggested next steps. You will also receive an executive summary suitable for board members and senior leaders, along with a walkthrough call explaining what matters most, what should be addressed first and who should take ownership.
Where further support is required, TSP can provide services including penetration testing, Cyber Essentials support and ongoing vCISO and cyber advisory services.
TSP protects confidential business information throughout the Cyber Security Assessment by working under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as standard and following information security processes supported by its ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications.
Before the assessment begins, TSP agrees what information is required, how it will be accessed and who may receive the findings. Assessment reports and recommendations are only shared with the people nominated by your organisation, helping to protect sensitive business and security information.
